Join us on Zoom today at 10am as we welcome Shabbat with some Shabbat singing.
Make sure to watch Morah Marisol 's Weekly Parshavideo before doing the activities listed below. https://www.youtube.com/
Omer count calendar (printout attached)
small stickers or crayon or colored pencils
Print the calendar and have your child place a sticker or color each number until they reach today’s day of the count which is 15. Every night have your child place a sticker or color one number until the count is complete at 49 days, which are the seven weeks between Passover and Shavuot (when Moses received the 10 Commandments on Mount Sinai).
Parsha Art Activity- Heal the Leper: (attached)
Have your child cut out the picture of the “leper” (or cut it out for your child).
On one side of the picture draw eyes, nose and an upside down smile.
On the other side of the picture draw eyes, nose and a smile.
Have your child draw small circles on the brown/pink piece of paper.
Cut out the circles and glue them onto the side that has a sad face.
Place one bandaid on the side that has a smile.
Make a point of telling your child(ren) that the side with the circles are of a person when they are sick. But the side with the bandaid is when the person feels better.
Here's an oral language game - Can You Say What I Say?
Practice articulation as you pronounce the sounds slowly and clearly and your child copies/joins in. oo (Make the sound for as long as your breath allows, 'oooooooooooooo') ee ('
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ') sh, mmmmm, l, r, a ... keep on going. Some are quick short sounds ( b, c, d, g, i, p, q) other sounds can last a while (f, l, m, n, r, s, v, z) and include long sounds (phonograms) oo, ee, sh...
Move like a train, shoulder to shoulder (waist!) and wind your way through the house (or outside) as you make these sounds.
You may use colored beads, Lego's, colored blocks.
(Advanced: 1c, 5c, 10c coins. Make sure your child knows / recognises penny, nickel, dime before you play. )
You should have at least 6 of each color (or type of coin).
Cut paper into 4. On each draw a pattern of colored dots: (you can decide on the patterns)
