School Nurse Supervisor 


To begin on or about 8/24/2020


Description & Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and maintain privacy of the health/safety/social/emotional needs of pre-K-8th grade students while school is in session. Assist staff with emergent medical needs when appropriate. 
  • Facilitate health and safety training for faculty/staff annually and as needed.  
  • Facilitate health & safety training for students and parents as needed.
  • Maintain health office supplies and safety equipment throughout the school building.
  • Attend and facilitate weekly child study team meetings with multidisciplinary team.
  • Manage electronic and paper medical records in accordance with state of CT regulations. Collaborate with parents, pediatric providers and specialists to ensure compliance.
  • Review and update school policies/procedures related to health and safety.
  • Ensure staffing of health office, securing substitutes when necessary.
  • Conduct annual vision screening and ensure hearing screening for students.


Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Registered nurse (5+ years experience), school or camp experience is a plus.
  • Current CT RN License and CPR certification
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Excellent communication skills are required for professional and effective communication with parents, students and staff.
  • Experience working with EMR's, Word, Excel, Google Drive
  • Must be comfortable independently using the nursing process to make patient disposition decisions.  




Art Teacher – Part-time


Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning

·         Establish and communicate learning targets for all learning activities

·         Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies

·         Observe and assess student's performance and development

·         Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules, expectations and procedures


Ability to:

·         Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students of varying ability

·         Commitment to the success of all children

·         Demonstrates success in collaborative teaching, managing a mixed ability classroom and facilitating performance based learning

·         Participate in professional development


·         Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to deliver elementary art content.

·         Ability to relate successfully with staff, families and students

·         Demonstrated ability to implement differentiated instruction and build upon the strengths and challenges of each student
